Murchison Drilling Schools, Inc. (MDS) has hired Willie Lyon as an Instructor. Willie has a Petroleum Engineering degree from Texas A&M and has forty-three years experience in drilling. He has worked as a Production Engineer, Drilling Engineer, Manager of Engineering, Manager of Operations, and as a Drilling Consultant. Willie has varied experience, working on land rigs, jack-ups, semi-submersibles, and drill ships. He is a registered PE and is certified in well control by both the IADC and IWCF. He is a member of the AIME/SPE and the IPAA.
Willie will be teaching the ten-day Operational Drilling Technology & Advanced Well Control course, the five-day IADC WellCAP Advanced Well Control Course, the five day IWCF Well Control Course, and the new three-day Deepwater Operation Transitions course. Willie will also be helping MDS develop an engineering course for planning deepwater wells. |
