1-1-11 PDT and ADT Courses

Murchison Drilling Schools, Inc. (MDS) is introducing two new drilling operations courses: Practical Drilling Technology Course (PDT) and the Advanced Drilling Technology Course (ADT). Both the PDT and the ADT are five-day courses.

The objective of the PDT Course is to equip Derrickmen and Assistant Drillers with the technical tools needed to become an effective Driller, to ensure that the Driller has the technical knowledge necessary to be proficient in his current position. This is an introductory level course in drilling operations technology. Participants should have a valid well control certification.

The objective of the ADT Course is to teach drilling supervisors how to supervise a drilling operation, preplan field operations, analyze and solve drilling problems, prevent unscheduled events, and communicate on the rig. This is an advanced level course in drilling operations. Participants must have a valid well control certification and should have completed the PDT Course prior to enrolling.

Both of these classes are scheduled to be taught at the MDS Training Center in Albuquerque. They can also be taught as in-house classes. To schedule a five-day course, contact Bill Murchison at (505) 720-6256 or email him at billjr@murchisondrillingschools.com.
